PDP Presidential Candidate, Atiku Abubakar poured his heart into Plateau when he flew into Jos to see survivors of the tragic road accident which claimed the lives of 13 members of the PDP on Saturday.

He came along with the national  Chairman of the PDP Dr Iorchia Ayu, himself an academic with roots for decades in Jos, former Vice president Namadi Sambo, Former Governor of Kwara State Dr Bukola Saraki. And while in Jos, he visited and also had the company of the former Plateau State Governor Jonah David Jang,  the PDP Gubernatorial Candidate Barr Caleb Mutfwang, his deputy Hon Josephine Piyo, the State Party Chairman Hon Chris Hassan, DG Campaign Council Chuef Letep Dabang, Directors and members of the campaign council, Party officials and enthusiastic PDP members.

At JUTH,  he was received by the Director of Media and Publicity of the Atiku-Okowa, Mutfwang-Piyo Campaign Council in Plateau Yiljap Abraham  who then introduced him to the Council medical team on ground led by Dr Belin David and the Deputy Chief Medical Director of JUTH Dr Miner Josiah Njem who was leading a team of doctors and nurses on behalf of the CMD. They led Atiku and his entourage on a guided tour of the wards and facilities holding the accident survivors.

Atiku was unhurried and deliberate as he stopped at the bedsides of the hurting, listening to explanations by the medical teams and offering his words of encouragement, appreciation and prayers.

At a point, a woman suddenly broke free from the crowd on the corridor and fell at his feet, raised a piece of paper to him and cried out, “ _Don Allah ka taimaka mini, ba ni da kowa, ga kudin asibiti_ ! (For God's sake help me. I have no one to help me with this medical bill). As security aides rushed forward to his side, Atiku slowed down, looked at the distresses woman and said, _“Ki tashi.  Kada ki damu. Za mu taimake ki mu biya_ ” (Rise. Do not worry.  We will help you; we will pay the bill).

Along the way, the Director of Media and Publicity of the campaign council yiljap abraham briefed him on steps taken so far by the Governorship Candidate Barr Mutfwang  since the accident. The PDP  Presidential Candidate responded, “I also have acted. I want you people to give them the best medical attention you can; do not spare anything. I have made a donation of 30 million Naira. The party has also provided something good for them. The people and their families should be taken care of very well.”

Atiku heard. He visited. He met with the hurting. And he gave them a helping hand. The PDP family did not have to stand alone in this moment of grief.
