On average, 132 Americans died by suicide each day. 1.4 million Americans attempted suicide.
Globally, about 1.5 people die yearly by suicide.
In Africa, Nigeria has the highest suicide rate of about 18,000-25,000 suicide deaths per year. To put in simple terms, about 49-54 people take their lives every single day in this country, Nigeria.
Suicide takes more lives than malaria, than HIV! AND THE HEARTBREAKING FACT IS, 90% of those who died by suicide had a diagnosable mental health condition at the time of their death, but probably didn't have enough knowledge to seek therapy, didn't know where to get a therapist or were scared of being judged by the quacks out there claiming to be mental health practitioners.
That's why we created the Help-NG Subsidized Psychotherapy Initiative to enable young people especially have access to therapy without having to step out of their homes and at a very subsidized rate. Young people can now pick up their phones, go to our website and be able to chat with a wide range of specialist psychotherapists from all over the world and they don't have to pay so much for that.
